Garden Benches
Memorial garden benches allow you to rest and enjoy the beauty of the gardens. They offer a place to reflect and contemplate. Consider dedicating a bench as a tribute that endures for years.
New benches are 6′ – black, powder-coated steel. Each memorial is a 6″ x 4″ brass plaque attached to the center of the backrest.
Bench dedications are $1,500 and are reserved for 15 years. After 15 years, the current donor may renew the dedication or the bench will become available for others.
Tribute Trees
Tribute Tree memorials are unique opportunities to contribute to the NABG tree collection and honor a loved one or significant life event. Each tree planted becomes a living, growing memory.
"A society grows great when we plant trees in whose shade we know we shall never sit."
The Newton Arboretum has two, Tree Tribute options. A brick OR paver is placed at the base of the tree to identify the dedication.
Tribute Tree + 8″ x 4″ brick
$500
Tribute Tree + 8″ x 8″ granite paver
$700
To maintain the health, diversity, and design of the Newton Arboretum, tree site-location and species-selection are at the discretion of the NABG horticulturist. However, when making inquiries please let us know the honoree’s favorite tree or area, reasonable efforts will be made to accommodate requests.
*Trees that fail to thrive within 1 year after planting will be replaced by the NABG.
Sculpture
Sculptures at the NABG are custom garden features. Displayed pieces beautifully combine art and nature to provide joy, inspiration, and reflection. We believe donating sculpture is an investment into the culture, aesthetics, and economic vitality of our community. A catalog of current artwork on the grounds can be found HERE.
The process of donating artwork at the NABG is collaborative. Donors will work closely with the Director and the Board to approve both the artwork and location. Please Contact us for more information.
Walk the Plank
Walk the Plank at the NABG is a memorial based fundraiser and a perfect opportunity for YOU to assist with garden enhancements! The bridge at Jordan’s Crossing needs to upgrade its weathered planks. Click the icon for details.
